Using Technology for Outdoor Education
This presentation was so fascinating and informative! The apps that were presented were so exciting and I can’t wait to use them with students!

Seek can help identify flowers, insects, plants and birds. You just take a photo of the organism you want to identify and it will tell you information about it!!
Night Sky is an app that outlines the constellations and helps students understand what they are seeing in the night sky. It also provides lesson plans for different ages and activities.

Peakvisor identifies mountain peaks.
Measure is an app that you can use to measure very large items. This will be very useful to measure outdoor things like trees and other tall objects.
Track Lite identifies animal tracks.
I think the resources outlined in this presentation were explained really well and enough information was given regarding to the pros and cons of each app. This technology will really engage the students and enhance their learning.
Educational Games using Technology
This presentation shared many resources for educational games in the classroom. Games make learning engaging and fun and are a great way for students to learn!
Minecraft: minecrafteducation is an online resource used to teach coding and inspire imagination. The education platform of minecraft has premade lessons and books within the platform. There are no limits to what students can create within this platform. This allows for engaging fun while learning. It is interesting to note that coding is one of the skills needed for some of the highest demanding jobs today.
Math Games: Math Prodigy, Math Playground, ABCya!, and Chesskid were all resources given to play math games in the classroom.
Literacy Games: Epic!, Reading Eggs, ABCmouse, ABCya!, English Prodigy, and IXL were all literacy app or website resources.
Diverse Needs: PBS.org, Adapted Mind, IXL, and Room Recess were all websites that offered a non-competitive yet engaging experience for students with diverse needs.
I look forward to using these websites to engage my future students in fun games while at the same time learning the content of the curriculum!
